Coordinating Conjunctions: Coordinating conjunctions allow us to join words, phrases, and clauses of equal grammatical rank in a sentence. Coordinating conjunction words are seven and people remember them by an acronym FANBOYS, i.e. (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So)

Examples of Coordinating Conjunctions:

  • This batch of mushroom stew is savoury and delicious.
  • She told me politely but firmly to go away.

  • Neither a pen nor a pencil is cheap.
