What are Prepositions?

The word Preposition is made of two words:

Preposition = Pre + Position

Prepositions are short words that link other words or phrases within a sentence. They precede words to link them to nearby words and often show the relationship that exists between people and things. Some prepositions also precede words to tell us where and when about the things.
